Can I Make Money Without Spending Money? Part 1 Of 3

Ted wrote to me asking if he can make money without spending money.

In his letter, he wanted to know how he can make money when he has none of of the necessary tools. He doesn't want to spend more money before he makes money.

The good news is... it can be done. I know, because I've done it. So let me share what I've learned.

In order to build anything -- including an online income, you'll need to input something. Only God made stuff out of absolutely nothing.

If you're not ready to create your own product (and that is probably the best option), you can either contribute your time or your money. When I started, I didn't want to spend money (didn't have much) but I was willing to find the time. Hopefully you've also got some time. If so, I have some suggestions to help you get started.

FIND A PRODUCT OR SERVICE TO PROMOTE

Sign up as a free affiliate of several related online businesses. There are many good ones that have good quality products and pay reasonable levels of affiliate commission. For example, Jimmy Brown's.

Some of Jimmy's ebooks etc are cheap and some are expensive -- that's good because some customers will buy at the cheaper end, and some will want the products with the higher value. And he provides a range of products that meet a range of needs -- which also is good. Examine his site and by that I mean read his material. There's much in it that you can learn from. Jimmy tends to over-deliver on information.

If you want to find more affiliate programs where you can make money when others buy, Allan Gardyne's site at http://associateprograms.com is the place to go. Allan is well respected and has thousands of affiliate programs listed in his database. That number is a bit overwhelming so you may decide to choose from the ones you see advertised -- with them you know that something is happening. While you're there, I'd suggest you sign up for Allan's free newsletter... I've regularly derive value from what Allan writes.

Basic Computer Terminology

I would like to introduce to you some of the basic terminology of a computer which will be very useful when you use it in the future. It would be a vary good idea if you knew them before you buy a computer. It will be very helpful when you call for technical help.

CD-ROM: The abbreviation of this is 'Compact Disk - Read Only Memory'. This is standard equipment in new systems. It is a fiber optical disk which stores the information in a digital form.

RAM: This is a Random Access Memory device. It is an unstable memory. I mean, it holds the data until the power is on. It is placed on the mother board of your system. It is faster and more expensive than ROM.

Cache: Cache is another kind of temporary memory. The system uses cache to quickly move intermediate data between the RAM and the CPU.

CPU: The CPU, or central processing unit, is just like the brains of your system. It controls all the peripherals located on it.

Hard Drive: The hard drive, is a permanent memory, it is also called the hard disk. The major data like the Operating System, software and many other programs are stored there.

Keyboard: It is just like a typewriter keyboard, it is an input device by which we enter the data into the system.

Megahertz (MHz): The clock speed of the microprocessor is measured in MHz. It shows the number of calculations carried per second.

Memory: This is the circuitry or devices that stores information in an electrical or magnetic form.
