Motorola U9 Pink Joins the Motorola U9 Purple in the PEBL Range

After what could be described as a 'dry spell' for Motorola the manufacturer has recently released two new offerings, the Motorola U9 Pink and U9 Purple mobile phones. These two new devices follow on from the successful PEBL range of handsets that took the market by storm early last year. The overall form as not changed dramatically but the features, design and technology certainly has.

Motorola enjoyed substantial sales figures for their original PEBl (pronounced pebble) collection, you know when a manufacturer has a hit with one of their models when they continue to release the same handset in multiple colored casings. The most popular of these was the Motorola U6 PEBL Pink Edition which offered a soft, pastel like pink casing that women fell in love with.

Of the two most recent launches the Motorola U9 Pink looks set to carry on where the previous range left off, it is not a pastel pink but a metallic and sparkly pink casing that gives the new Motorola U9 its wow factor.

The new U9 models now have some external controls for using the handset when in the closed position. Users can now control their music tracks from the outside by simply pressing play, pause, rewind and skip using these new exterior controls. This is a big improvement on the previous model as users can now have their phone in their pocket whilst listening to their favorite tracks and simply switch songs with the selection of one button rather than having to open the phone.

Another advancement is the upgrading of the integrated camera from a simple VGA to a 2.0 megapixel lens for capturing quality still photographs aswell as shooting high quality video clips. The camera also offers a built-in flash unit and zoom for close up photography.

The extra technology has not affected the overall dimensions too much, the length has expanded from 86.5 to 90mm but the width has been shaved from 49 to 48.6mm. The thickness has lost over 3.5mm which makes the Motorola U9 Pink ideal for not cluttering up handbags as well as fitting snuggly into small pockets.

The Motorola U9 Pink mobile phone offers a sleek clamshell design followed by a combination of curvaceous edges and a metallic gloss finish, by touching just one button the phone transforms into an MP3 player and users can control their tunes via Windows PC with Windows PC Player. Plus, with the extensive memory supplied, users can store up to 1000 songs and enjoy fast downloads with the USB 2.0.

The Pink U9 also features Bluetooth technology allowing users to share files with other bluetooth devices such as laptops, PDA phones, TV sets and other mobile phones as well as connect wirelessly with handsfree headsets and car kits for safe driving.

The Motorola U9 Pink and Purple editions have been made available via the CPW group on both T-Mobile pay monthly contract deals as well as pay as you go on O2 making accessibility far easier for those who cannot pass a network credit check or who do not want the ongoing costs of a 12 month agreement.

Motorola looks set to once again take a good market share with a range of phones that look like no other available. The original PEBL models were advertised as stones on the beach with their soft pastel colors. That certainly cannot be said for these new U9 models so we are looking forward to seeing how the manufacturer is proposing to market these glossy gems.

The Motorola U9 Pink and Purple Motorola U9 are two of many new clamshell devices to be launched this year. If you require any further information please feel free to visit our online mobile phones shop.

Be Prepared in the Event Computer Disaster Strikes

Computers

Businesses and individuals alike have all grown to rely on computers. The reliance is never more apparent than when something happens to the horrid little box that makes our lives easier. We expect computers to react a certain way, in certain situations. It nearly always comes as a surprise when the beloved little box, know as a computer, refuses to boot up. Probably even more shocking, is the dawning that we've neglected to backup or prepare for the unforeseen disaster that has just been thrust upon us.

Regardless of the number of times you have experienced the dread of being unable to access the information trapped in the god-awful computerized contraption, we are always invariably unprepared.

The reality of it is that computers, not only contain moving parts, but they like other machines, they are prone to failure at some point in their lives. Not only can hardware failures occur, but viruses can also corrupt data making it impossible to retrieve. Regardless of the litany of words used to bully the box into behaving, the truth is that the only offence is a good defense.

So how do you prepare for a computer tragedy?

Prepare for the Worst

In structuring an offense it's important to realize the power of reinforcements: backups are invaluable and will save countless hours of shameless degradation. Be sure that you backup data and files on a regular basis, there are a number of tools that will automate the process.

It is critical that you check the backup log to ensure that a backup was completed properly. I cannot begin to describe the devastation felt when it is realized that though there was a backup process in place, the backup never actually occurred. Realizing this during a restore is likely to push any computer lover over the edge. It is a good idea to store a weekly back up off site. This is especially helpful, if an unforeseen fire or a natural disaster strikes.

Protection is critical!

Build A Wall

If the computer has Internet access, either a hardware or software firewall (or combination there of) must be used. The firewall creates a barrier between a computer and the world. Without a firewall, Internet worms are capable of exploiting security holes and are able to create what are referred to as 'back doors'. These back doors can then be used to gain access to personal information stored on the computer, including password files, and financial information.

Trust No One

If you are an avid Internet surfer or downloader be sure to scan any downloads prior to opening or installing. Up to date anti-virus software should be used to ensure, that computers do not become infected with malicious viruses that will ruin your life. Scan any email attachments prior to opening regardless of whom they are from. Files that end with .scr, .pif and .exe can contain viruses that will wreak havoc with your data and emotional well being.

Preparedness goes a long way, and a little foresight will ensure that, while a computer might be an inconvenience, you will not be defeated.
